Africana Studies

The department's fifth-year M.A. provides training for students interested in doctoral studies or pursuing careers as teachers or in professions related to Africana Studies. Students admitted to the 5th year M.A. must complete six courses beyond the two courses taken as undergraduates and applied to the master's degree, including three core topical classes.
