The MAT program offers a master's degree in one of four secondary education disciplines: English, social studies, science (biology, chemistry, or physics/engineering), or mathematics. The program has an intensive one-year, full-time format, beginning with a summer semester in June and ending the following May, and is certification-eligible for Rhode Island state teacher certification in secondary education (grades 7-12). Brown undergraduates may also apply to a combined baccalaureate/M.A.T.
