Bioengineering

Bioengineering research at Caltech applies engineering principles to the design, analysis, construction, and manipulation of biological systems, with research emphases including biodevices, bioimaging, biomechanics, cell and tissue engineering, synthetic biology, and systems biology. Students independently plan and conduct research culminating in a defended thesis.
