German

The German major totals 45-49 credits and is structured around a requisite study abroad experience, combining language acquisition, cultural awareness orientation, courses on the German-speaking world's social, political, economic, cultural, and intellectual life, textual interpretation, and a senior seminar. Immersion in the linguistic and cultural setting of a foreign country is essential to the formation of a modern language major.
