Sociology

Sociology majors in the associate degree program at Dean achieve a fundamental understanding of the social world and the complexities of human interaction, primarily by studying how people live together in groups. Using sociological theory and specific sociological research methods, students learn to see how the social world is organized and how relationships form, why they persist, what effects they have, and how they maintain social order and bring about social change.
