The Master of Arts in Counseling is a distance education program which requires the completion of 60 credit hours. Coursework is consistent with requirements for both New Mexico and other licensing agencies across the United States. Students are not required to come to the Portales campus. The Master of Arts in Counseling is designed for individuals who wish to pursue licensure (LMHC) in clinical, state agency, or mental health counseling.
