In the English Department, students read and interpret everything from television commercials to Shakespeare, developing analytical skills alongside a poetic sensitivity to language. There are two concentrations within the English major, Literature and Writing, and graduates pursue occupations in law, publishing, advertising, education, business, social work, activism, and public relations.
