The English major teaches students to analyze works representative of the major literary genres, connect texts to literary, cultural, and historical contexts, and evaluate the ethical and spiritual values set forth in literary works. Students produce original scholarship and original creative work in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama, and develop professional skills through experiential learning.
