English

English majors learn to read closely, think critically, and write effectively as they explore literature, history, and culture across diverse contexts. The abilities they develop in their coursework prepare them to read perceptively, analyze thoughtfully, and communicate clearly—skills that are invaluable for success in a diverse and complex world. The degree requires a minimum of 216 units under Lawrence's unit system rather than semester credit hours.
