Music Theory

The music theory major requires 36 units of music theory in addition to the core courses required for the B.Mus. degree, including counterpoint in the style of J.S. Bach, theory and analysis of music since 1900, global music theory and analysis, and topics in music theory and analysis. The degree requires a minimum of 216 units under Lawrence's unit system rather than semester credit hours.
