English

The English major is designed to equip graduates to read closely, think critically, write with clarity and creativity, and conviction. Students learn how language has been employed to create literature that has both delighted and moved audiences. The major integrates an affirmation of the beauty and power of language with an appreciation of the complexity of narrative worlds.
