Mathematics/Secondary Education

This major prepares candidates to teach mathematics at the secondary level by meeting the CAEP/NCTM standards and the South Carolina 9-12 curriculum standards. Students complete 27 hours of major courses, 18 hours of other required courses, 33 hours of professional education including observation and directed teaching, and six hours of electives in addition to General Education. Graduates are prepared for the PRAXIS II Examination.
