Students who choose Spanish as a major gain knowledge about the language and the many cultures of the Spanish-speaking world, informed by the 'five C's' of communication, cultures, connections, comparisons and communities. The major requires a semester of full-immersion study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country and prepares students for graduate study and careers using their language skills.
