Specialization is accomplished through the series of three final year electives and participation in research projects in fluid mechanics, propulsion, structures and materials and control theory. Emphases are made on viscous flows, real gas and rarefaction effects, combustion, plasma physics, turbomachinery, structural analysis and design, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, stability and control of flight vehicles and orbital mechanics.
