Classics

Students in the Department of Classics pursue a major in classics in order to explore the ancient Mediterranean world through the interdisciplinary study of language, literature, material culture, history, and reception. Students read the actual words of ancient Greek and Latin texts and engage in literary, historical, and archaeological analysis.
