Regular first-year students in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program enter the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (IGPBS), taking one year of core studies relevant to the various degree offering programs. Students engage in research immediately through laboratory rotations before selecting a mentor and transitioning into a discipline-specific program to complete their degree. The normal time for completion of the PhD degree is 6 years.
