The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree is designed for two groups of educators: career teachers who want to remain in the classroom and earn an advanced degree, and alternatively certified individuals who would like to become a Standard Certified P-12 classroom teacher per Oklahoma State Department of Education requirements. The MAT program provides teachers with the professional education coursework needed under the Oklahoma Alternative Placement Program guidelines.
