Alternate Route Teacher Preparation

The Alternate Route (CE) program is a non-traditional teacher preparation program designed for individuals who have completed undergraduate or graduate degrees but have not completed a formal teacher preparation program and who wish to obtain the necessary training to become a New Jersey certified teacher. The program includes a 50-hour non-credit preservice course along with 350 hours of graduate coursework, with elementary, secondary, and ESL certificate options.
