The Department of English Language and Literature offers a major program of study leading to a Bachelor of Arts in English, as well as a minor program of study in English. By studying British, American, and world literatures, students who major or minor in English learn to read closely, to think critically, and to write clearly. English majors may pursue a Creative Writing emphasis or choose a degree without an area of emphasis.
