Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Certification - Certification / Registry Exam Eligibility: AIMS students are eligible to take the Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) examination after successfully completing DMS 122 - Ultrasound Physics and Instrumentation II. Up to 60 days prior to graduation, DMS students will be eligible to take the Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) specialty examinations offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Graduates who have passed the SPI exam and a specialty exam (AB or OB/GYN) will earn the RDMS credential from ARDMS. Eligibility requirements for the RDMS credential are solely determined by ARDMS, and are subject to change at any time. ARDMS is an independent organization. AIMS does not guarantee registry exam eligibility.

Associate of Applied Science in MRI Technology - Certification - Graduates of the MRI Technology associate degree program are eligible to sit for the ARMRIT national certification exam for magnetic resonance imaging. MRI graduates are also able to pursue primary pathway certification through ARRT. The MRI program at AIMS is officially recognized by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). MRI graduates with a foreign degree, who are pursuing certification through ARRT, must have their degree evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service. Eligibility requirements for the MRI certifications are solely determined by ARMRIT and ARRT, and are subject to change at any time. ARMRIT and ARRT are independent organizations.
